Mendelian Randomisation in Medical Research

Mendelian Randomisation in Medical Research

This short course is designed to offer a thorough and detailed introduction to the principles of Mendelian Randomisation analysis. Mendelian randomisation represents a novel methodology in the field of genetic epidemiology, leveraging observational data to infer causal relationships in epidemiological investigations. The course covers the foundational concepts, various methodologies, and the interpretation of results pertaining to Mendelian Randomisation analysis.

Course Structure:

The structure of this course is a blend of pre-recorded video content and live interactive sessions conducted via Zoom. These components will primarily focus on the theoretical aspects of Mendelian Randomisation analysis. To facilitate practical understanding and application of the concepts, students will be provided with exercises that allow them to conduct the analysis independently.

Target Audience:

This course is specifically designed for individuals who have a basic understanding of epidemiologic research and fundamental concepts of genetic epidemiology. Additionally, familiarity with R for statistical analysis is needed. This ensures that the participants can fully engage with and benefit from the course content.
